Slide Size Calculator — Dimensions in Pixels, Inches & cm

Pick a preset — PowerPoint 16:9, Google Slides, Keynote, A4 — or enter your own size, and get the dimensions in inches, centimetres, points, EMU and pixels at the export DPI you choose. Stops the guessing when you size images and backgrounds for a deck.

How it works

  • PowerPoint's default widescreen slide is 13.333 × 7.5 inches; Google Slides' default is 10 × 5.625 inches; both are 16:9.
  • Pixels = inches × DPI. Slides have no fixed pixel size — the DPI is chosen at export. 96 DPI is PowerPoint's default screen export (1280×720 for 16:9); 150 DPI gives 2000×1125; 300 DPI is print quality.
  • Points = inches × 72. Font sizes and Keynote's native slide size are expressed in points.
  • EMU (English Metric Units) = inches × 914,400. It is the unit inside .pptx XML, useful when scripting or using python-pptx.
  • For full-bleed background images, export at least at the pixel size of the screen you present on — 1920×1080 for a 16:9 Full HD projector — regardless of the slide's inch size.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PowerPoint slide size in pixels?+

The default 16:9 slide is 13.333×7.5 in, which is 1280×720 px at 96 DPI or 1920×1080 at 144 DPI. Export at 1920×1080 or higher for presenting on Full HD screens.

What size is a Google Slides slide?+

10×5.625 inches (16:9) by default — 960×540 px at 96 DPI. Google Slides also offers 4:3 (10×7.5) and 16:10 (10×6.25).

Should I make my slides 1920×1080?+

Set the slide to 16:9 and design at that ratio; the pixel size is decided when you export. Images placed on the slide should be at least 1920 px wide to look sharp on Full HD.

What is EMU?+

English Metric Units — the internal length unit in Office Open XML. 914,400 EMU per inch, 12,700 per point. You only meet it when automating .pptx files.
